One of the main missions of the church is to feed the hungry and we have adopted the theme of “Responding to Hunger in our Midst” for 2011. This is demonstrated each month as 10-15 BPC volunteers feed the hungry at the Durham Urban Ministries shelter. We generally prepare 50 dozen eggs, 15 pounds of grits, 5 loaves of bread and 6 gallons of juice. It was a great morning of ministry, fellowship and fun as we serve approximately 150-200 hungry locals.
